Salix Purple Weeping Willow

An attractive small tree with slender, weeping branches that hold silvery catkins in the spring followed by purple shoots that mature to blue-green foliage. Ideal for planting near water. Water before planting. Dig a hole as deep as the root ball and twice as wide. Mix compost into the soil as you plant the tree. Water well and in dry weather until established. Apply an annual mulch of manure or compost around the base of the plant. Requires very little pruning. Remove diseased or crossing branches from late autumn to mid-winter.
